work in progress, pirate mittens

Here are the pirate mittens I'm knitting for my boy.
The tension is far from perfect, but I like them thusfar.

Finally, the pictures I promised last time.

These are my new Vog on's. A little to late, cause the whether is not inviting you to ware sandals anymore. But I'm ready for next year. I like the pattern, maybe I'll make them in wool without cotton sometime in a longer version. From this blue regia cotton I used just a few grams more than one ball, maybe I can knit my mother a pair with the remaining yarn, her feet are a little smaller than mine.


My boy's sweater is on hold now. The knitting on the front panel is ready, but I still have to make the design for the back. It will be Hook or TickTack.


I started my stranded test project. I liked the cuff, but the little skulls in the pattern did not show very well with this colored yarn. So I ripped it and started all over again with black and grey. My son loves it, I'll show them next time.

Progress

Just a short progress update.

The front panel of the Peter Pan sweater is done knitting. Now I'm looking for a nice Hook picture for the backside.
The first blue Vog-on is also done, the second one is past the gusset.
And finally I made a chart for my stranded knitting project. Pirate mittens for my son, based on this pattern.

New Knitty

The new Knitty is out. Not really my taste this time, which is not a bad thing, my wannaknit list is long enough.
But I might give some a try. Flower power is nice and you never have to many socks.

Stranded knitting

I like the effect of stranded knitting, both fair isle and nordic. But my
way of knitting is not suitable for it. I can manage a small piece, but
since I dream off knitting a cardigan, I have to inprove my knitting
skills.

Even found some little movies (one, two) about knitting with 2 colors in 2 hands.
And there are more movies here.

Now just to find a little nice study project and some yarn and I'll be on
my way. Maybe I'll just start with the baby cardigan pattern or those lovely little mittens. Mittens, that's a good starter, nice, small
but useful mittens.
