Cake
I made a quick and small birthday cake for my little girl and another one for the next day 'Sinterklaas'.

It's been far to long ago, my last blog.
So time to show al progress and FO's.
First my monkey socks.
I liked this pattern and I liked this yarn. These are socks I will wear a lot.
I liked the yarn (opal bambus) so much that I made another project with it. A little cardi for my little girl.
I made up the pattern myself. My first seamless project. I knitted it bottom up, but I won't do that again. I found it difficult to knit the parts where body and sleeves come together. It's impossible to just keep on knitting, you have to make loops in the circ between the stitches to be able to go on. But the result is good. I like it a lot.
And finally I picked up sewing again. A shirt for my little girl. To bad she allready grew out of it. But it didn't take a lot of time to make.
Next time I'll try to show the progress on the Peter Pan sweater and the winter coat I am sewing for my girl.

Update
A few not so new pictures this time.
Why not so new? Because I have a new WIP thats not pictured yet. You'll just have to do with a picture of the wool.

And some socks my mum knitted for the little ones. My son complaned, he liked the colorfull socks of his little sister better.
And at last the wool for my new sock, Opal bambus.
OH, almost forgot. The pattern for the backside of the Peter Pan sweater is ready:

Long time no blog
It's been to long. Very busy, but not that crafty.
But at least the pirate mittens are finished and my son is very happy with them. Now started a simple pair of socks for him, for in his rainboots.
Progress will be slow though, cause my invite to Ravelry arrived. So much to explore.

pictures
Finally, the pictures I promised last time.
These are my new Vog on's. A little to late, cause the whether is not inviting you to ware sandals anymore. But I'm ready for next year. I like the pattern, maybe I'll make them in wool without cotton sometime in a longer version. From this blue regia cotton I used just a few grams more than one ball, maybe I can knit my mother a pair with the remaining yarn, her feet are a little smaller than mine.
My boy's sweater is on hold now. The knitting on the front panel is ready, but I still have to make the design for the back. It will be Hook or TickTack.
I started my stranded test project. I liked the cuff, but the little skulls in the pattern did not show very well with this colored yarn. So I ripped it and started all over again with black and grey. My son loves it, I'll show them next time.

Progress
Just a short progress update.
The front panel of the Peter Pan sweater is done knitting. Now I'm looking for a nice Hook picture for the backside.
The first blue Vog-on is also done, the second one is past the gusset.
And finally I made a chart for my stranded knitting project. Pirate mittens for my son, based on this pattern.

New Knitty
The new Knitty is out. Not really my taste this time, which is not a bad thing, my wannaknit list is long enough.
But I might give some a try. Flower power is nice and you never have to many socks.

Stranded knitting
I like the effect of stranded knitting, both fair isle and nordic. But my
way of knitting is not suitable for it. I can manage a small piece, but
since I dream off knitting a cardigan, I have to inprove my knitting
skills.
I found some instruction on the internet here and here.:
Even found some little movies (one, two) about knitting with 2 colors in 2 hands.
And there are more movies here.
Now just to find a little nice study project and some yarn and I'll be on
my way. Maybe I'll just start with the baby cardigan pattern or those lovely little mittens. Mittens, that's a good starter, nice, small
but useful mittens.

What's up?
What happened in the 'freubel' field.
The Peter Pan sweater is slowly progressing. The yarn is very acryllic and although I didn't care in the past, now I don't like to knit with it anymore. Also knitting with several balls of yarn on your lap is not my favorite. So I made the deal with myself that I should knit at least 4 rows each day to have it ready before winter sets in.
I tried entrelac and created a dish cloth. It's fun to knit all those little squares together. The result still needs some finishing and will be a nice 'snoetenpoetser' then (cloth used to wipe little faces).
New on my needles is another Vog-on. In solid blue this time. I like wearing the pair I knitted in July in my sandals, so I felt I needed another pair.

Stitch markers
Some weeks ago I got a kilo of glas beads at 'marktplaats', kind of ebay.
It are al different beads, lots of them.
Yesterday I finally sat down and made me some stitch markers.
This is fun to do, so now I have to look on the internet for more examples.

Little socks
As promised a foto of the socks I knitted for my little girl.
Her foot was not planned to be in the picture, but just happen to be there when the camera finally took the picture.
They are knitted with a leftover from my Vog'on socks, Regia Bamboo.
The pattern I used is the basic pattern from Wolhalla.
They are a little bit to big for the little feet in the picture, but she can use them this winter.

In English from now
From now on I'll try to blog in English, so I can connect to knitting rings.
I made a list of things I still want to make. The Peter Pan sweater for my little big boy is on the needles now (two rows already).
Yarn for the blue cable sweater for myself is waiting in the livingroom. All the other plans are listen so I won't forget them.

Back again
Zo, dat is eventjes geleden. Nou ben ik een tijdje op vakantie geweest, maar zo lang nou ook weer niet, helaas.
Voor de vakantie kwam er niet veel uit mijn handen dat het melden waard was. Pas twee dagen voor vertrek waren mijn Vog'on sokken klaar, toen geen tijd meer om te bloggen.
Maar hier zijn ze:
En ik ben best tevreden met het resultaat, niet zozeer met de foto. Wellicht later nog een betere, bij daglicht.
Op vakantie is er nog wel wat gebreid. Van het garen dat over was twee paar sokjes voor Aniek, ook nog te fotograveren bij daglicht. Maar het zijn gewone rechtoe rechtaan sokjes.
En het sjawltje dat ik op de pennen had is uitgehaald. Dat garen gebruik ik nu voor snoetenpoetsertjes. Eigenlijk om nieuwe steken uit te proberen en dan in een nog bruikbaar formaat. Heeft het na het breien ook nog enig nut. Twee zijn er al klaar, foto's ook nog te maken.
Ga nu weer snel verder met het patroon van een Peter Pan trui voor Kevin. Doeii..

En weer een FO
Weer een finished object.
Het broekje voor mijn meisje is klaar. Gewoon een eenvoudig spijkerbroekje, opgefleurd met een paar bandjes. Al die hippe meisjesbaby broekjes zijn zo smal van boven, daar krijgen we haar dijen amper in. Dus zelf maar een lekker wijd broekje gemaakt. Lekker luchtig in de zomer.

Zoveel van die leuke sokkenpatroontjes gezien op internet, dus meteen nieuwe wolletjes/katoentjes/zijdetjes besteld. Heb ik wat te doen deze vakantie.

Eigenlijk zijn er al twee in worden. De eerste met mijn vaste hoeveelheid steken opgezet, maar hij lijkt wat te ruim. De tweede met wat minder steken opgezet, dat lijkt beter.

Werk in wording
Eens kijken, wat heb ik nog aan WIP's (work in progress) liggen.
Er ligt nog een spijkerbroekje geknipt, voor mijn dochtertje en ik heb een sjawltje voor mezelf op de pennen.
En daarnaast nog plannen voor sokken, een trui voor mezelf en zo'n mooie ajourshawl.
Genoeg te doen dus.

zonneschermpjes
Eindelijk een foto van de zonneschermen voor de auto. Al even geleden gemaakt, maar dit weekend pas in gebruik genomen. Buitenkant is een soort gaas en de binnenkant is zonwerend horregaas.

Nog meer hoedjes
Op verzoek een wit hoedje met brede rand gemaakt voor een november vriendinnetje.
Eerst maar weer eens een proefhoedje met Aniek als proefmodel.
En daarna het feesthoedje. De rand is wat slapper, maar gelukkig wel stevig genoeg.

Zoon heeft vakantie en wil nu eindelijk zijn nieuwe shirtjes wel eens voorzien zien van de uitgezochte plaatjes.
Dus de borduurmachine van zolder getrokken en gister tussen alle ditjes en datjes door een sheriff voor hem geborduurd.

Vestje
Eindelijk, het vestje voor mijn meisje is ook klaar. Gelukkig destijds voor een grote maat gekozen, dus waarschijnlijk past ze er nog in ook.

Geknutseld met mijn zoon
Voor een verjaardag mijn zoon geassisteerd met het knutselen van een locomotief. Mama mocht al het plakwerk doen, de rest kon hij zelf. Achter het schuifje kon het kado geplaatst worden.

Hoedjes
Het begon allemaal met een foto van een vriendinneke met een hoedje op. Wil ik ook voor mijn hummel, maak ik natuurlijk zelf.
